Map
While taking a course at Anderson Ranch Arts Center on CNC and digital fabrication, I wanted to design a tabletop mapping the hometowns of many of my close friends. My Stanford classes have allowed me to meet interesting people from all over the country and world, and I wanted a piece of furniture that we could all appreciate. The tabletop was CNC routed and then laser engraved. The scope of the class only allowed me to complete the tabletop, so I made use of my local IKEA and bought a table and glass pane to cover the tabletop. Although I'm very happy with the table now, in the future, I hope to design and build a more appropriate and permanent table for the map.
